doeboy leonetti

I have been in the gambling world for over 25 years and theres not a day that passes by i do no sit back and think of what has become of the young pool hustler's that gambled hustled grown men twice there ages where are they today what type of path did they choose for themselves are they in jailhmm i hope not are they still living the same life style or maybe there all family men with kids of there own now? Well for myself I am a completely changed man from what i was when i was in my 20's and half of my 30's a person who gambling on most anything pool, cards, sports hell i would gamble on who would be the next person to walk threw the door you name ittheres a great chance i gambled on it. I won't take up to much time with my little boring life all tho there were many fun exciting times and many scary times also i will get to that a little later. I could honestly tell you i spent a good 95% of my life in a pool hall one thing was for sure i was not a hard person to find anyone who knew me and they needed to see me all they had to do was walk into Chicago billiards in West Haven Connecticutpossiably the most famous pool hall in America known for holding the biggest tournaments having rooms in the back for pool players to sleep that traveled from out of state even out of the country to play there, there's not a pro hustler or a pro player that hasn't played at Chicago billiards and ownerRalphy already a very wealthy man before opening Chicago billiards wanted his pool room to be known when you walk in there there will be no shortage of pool players waiting to play for any amount of money you want and believe me there wasn't. I am sure by now many of people have heard of Danny " kid delicious "Basavich the most famous pool hustler in decades being featured on date line N.B.C. sports center also having a book writtin based on his life the title of the book is "running the table " if you yet to read it go to your nearest book store and pick a copy up its truly an inspirational story of how growing up he was constantly bullied cause of his weight and almost ended his life until he one day found something he was good at and loved that being obviously pool and he goes on to winning hundred's of thousand's of dollars and becoming ranked 9th best pool player in the world and he talks about all his stories he went threw traveling from state to state pool hall to pool hall hustling and also how he got his start at Chicago billiards when he was around the age of 17 so i know how he turned out but there's a few other's i do not lets see Billy "the kid" Lanna must be 27 now Cris "chubaka" must be around the same age Richie "Sqid" Ianotti and John "doeboy" Leonetti are also in the mid 20's as well these 5 kids all lived a life that Hollywood would be banging down doors to buy there life stories when there 14,15 year old kids hustling people for 2,3,4, thousand dollars on most nights having there pictures in ever pool magazinesRalphie had an eye for talent and he hit the jack pot finding these kids Billy the kid was from Rhode Island and just like Chubaka,Richie and doeboy he spent every waking hour playing pool and when Ralphie took a road trip with Doeboy Richie and Chubaka to different pool halls across the east coast to spread the Chicago name and also to back them in tournaments and side games when they stopped into a pool hall in Providence hoping to find action Billy jumped right up soDoeboy ended up playing billy in 9 ball races to 11 for 1,000 dollars rail birds quickly started to crowed around the table after playing 4 sets world started to spread quickly about these to kids running racksconsitantly they played for 1o hours going back and forth Ralphie new if Billy would come back to Connecticut the sky the limit this was the perfect situation to start making serious money and after talking to Billy it took 1 minute to convince him to come back with them for the summer and the rest well is history The summer turned into 7 years and those kids all became best friends making more money in a night that most grown adults would have to work a year to make will makeanyone's bond unbreakable having a backer who has unlimited amounts of money who is an action being able to practice whenever you want and never having to worry about table time well sounds like a gambler's dream and for these kids they were living the dream. It didn't take long before the word started to spread in the pool world that there was these 14 year old kids that are being backed by a millionaire who had no regard to money backing them for any amount of money well weather you walked into Chicago at 3pm or 3am tables were filled with people playing for thousands and everyone wanting to play Billy,Doeboy,Richie and chubaka thinking it will be a easy score well bad move and many learned the hard way these kids were winning tournaments at an alarming rate when they went to Canada to play in the Pro Am tournament for players of the ages 13-17 one of the biggest tournaments for that class players from America,Finland,China from all over the globe Billy placed 1stfeating a field of 230 player Richie placed 3rd Doeboy placed 5th and Chubaka was runner-up all getting there picture in pool players magazine with the head line "the crew of the pool world" everyone wanted there piece of the empire where we have 4 young teenagers that play on a level of most establishedpro's that been playing for years and years but as a few years past and winning countless amount of money and tournaments getting games were getting harder for them having to give huge ''spots" spot meaning that there opponents will have 3 or 4 money ball I'll explain it for those who maybe confused in 9 ball you must pocket the balls in order 1,2,3ect . and who ever pockets the nine ball wins well with a spot say i must give you the 7 and 8 ball well now if you pocket either the 7 ball 8 ball or 9 ball you will win where i would only win if i sink the 9 ball hope that helped so entering tournaments they would have to always give there opponentsalot of weight A.K.A. a spot also theres not much money in tournaments the real money are in side games and in the pool world when you become known as a very good player a "SHARK" thats not good so i remember for the first time in years these kids were nowhere to be found well they were in Bridgeport playing poker and that started to become there new hustle now you have to remember there only 14,15 years old they should be in school playing sports like other kids right wellabsolutly but these kids were no normal kids they didn't lead a normal kids life they were always with hustlers gambler mobsters and they were all very well respected when they would go to the casino's in Connecticut everyone knew they were under age but they turned there head and they became regulars in thefoxwoods card room i can sit here and tell you who Doeboy Richie Billy and Chubaka were connected to if you new them it was no secret or if you just seen them also they were regulars at the ''club" where they played cards with very high rankingpowerfull people but when you live that life it come with the territory . Two months ago i was playing in a tournament at Foxwoods casino and after i got knocked out i was walking around the poker room and playing at a 10 20 no limit hold'em table was Doeboy i couldn't believe it it must have been over 8 years since i seen him last i wasn't sure if i should walk up to him and distract him during play so i waited and with in 20 minutes i hear my name being yelled i turned around it wasDoeboy asking me to come over he put a marker in his spot got up shook my hand so we went got something to eat and we start to go down memory lane it was great i asked him back in the day it never dawned on me about you being in the pool halls all hours of the night what about school and he said " school whats that" he told me before i started playing pool i was always drawn to money and making it the fast way and that really almost got me killed so yea my life isn't for everyone and looked downapond in most eyes but if it was for pool we wouldn't be having this convo he also got to telling me how when poker became main stream and was on every T.V. station pool dyed and dyed quick and all the money went to poker witch was fine cause we were playing poker years before it was ever on T.V. so i started to take it more serious and in poker being street smart is key having that split second to trust someone on the street that all ties into cards plus tournaments became a phenom so people like myself who rather play ring games get to play these players who think playing ring games andtourny's are the same but two totally different monsters so i cash in on that i asked him if he ever plays tourn'y and he told sure sometimes we both ended up playing in a 300 buy-in and after an hour into the tournament we got stuck at the same table i tell you whatDoeboy's skills are just as impressive as they are in pool i was truly impressed I've also watched and played with him on line if he decides to start playing telivised tournaments expect him to turn the poker world up side down. I asked him about Billy Richie and Chubaka Billy is back in Rhode Island and is still a force in the pool world winning the northeast one pocket tournament Richie just recently got married and well as forChubaka not so good at all he has a very rear dease and theres no cure. Theres one thing for curtain if anyone who is a movie writer or a writer trying to make a name i have the perfect script for you these 4 kids life and everything they went threw done its a can't miss
